Swedish Massage

One of the most commonly taught and well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation, while also relaxing the nervous system. This modality aims to relax muscles tension and improve lymphatic and blood circulation through mild pressure. Five basic strokes are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. Therapists use a combination of kneading, rolling, vibrational, percussive, and tapping movements. Swedish massage may generalize relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, and improve circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.

Firm Pressure Massage

Techniques that utilize deeper muscle massage with longer strokes along with percussive movements to affect the sub-layer of musculature and fascia which helps relieve pain in the muscles. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones, and joints). This modality helps with chronic muscular pain, injury rehabilitation and reduces inflammation.

Back Massage

Myofascial Massage

Myofascial release is the three – dimensional application of sustained pressure and movement into the fascial system in order to eliminate fascial restrictions. Palpation of the tissue is made to various fascial layers. Upon location of the area of fascial tension, gentle pressure is applied in the direction of the restriction. Myofascial release is an effective therapeutic approach in the relief of cervical pain, back pain, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, and neurological dysfunction, restriction of motion, chronic pain, and headaches.

Neuromuscular Massage

This modality manipulates the soft-tissue while balancing the bodies central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. Based on neurological laws that explain how the central nervous system initiates and maintains pain, the goal is to help relieve the pain and dysfunction by understanding and alleviating the underlying cause. This modality can help locate and release spasms and hypercontraction in the tissue, eliminate trigger points that cause referred pain, rebuild the strength of injured tissues, assist venous and lymphatic flow, and restore postural alignment, also help with the flexibility of the tissue.

Trigger Point Massage

Pressure is applied with the fingers, knuckles, and/or elbow in ten to thirty second intervals to effectively alleviate the muscles. Trigger point massage helps work out knots and reduce the pain associated with the muscles. These sensitive areas in the muscle or connective tissue (facia) that becomes painful when compressed will be relived when pressed on. Pressing on a trigger point can cause referred pain and can help identify the external area in the body generated the pain.

Prenatal Massage

Please consult with your doctor before starting prenatal massage. Prenatally specific techniques can reduce pregnancy discomforts and concerns and enhance the physiological and emotional well-being of both mother and fetus. Massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, help with edema (swelling), relieve muscles aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health. By using a side-lying position for a pregnant woman during massage helps support the clients back, neck, and stomach for the uterus. There will be pillows placed under the head, and if the client chooses under the stomach, arm that is supine, and or between the knees.

Cupping Treatment

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, tightness, and soreness, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
